Activity #4 - Describing Types of Clothes
Different types of clothes:
Dansei no fuku - Men's clothes
Josei no fuku - Women's clothes
Kodomo no fuku - Children's clothes
Nagasode - Long-sleeves
Hansode - Short-sleeves
Shatsu - Shirts
Mizugi - Swim wear
Boshi / Kyappu - Hats / Caps
Jaketto - Jackets
Zubon / Pantsu - Pants
Shoto Pantsu - Shorts
Sukaato - Skirts
Doresu - Dresses
Other useful phrases:
Doozo kitte kudasai - Go ahead. Please put it on (your body). (Used when customer is putting on shirts, jackets, and garments for the torso)
Doozo kabutte kudasai - Go ahead. Please put it on (your head). (Used when customer is putting on hats, caps, or other head gear)
Doozo Haite kudasai - Go ahead. Please put it on (your lower body). (Used when customer is putting on pants, shorts, and more)
Sore wa pittari desu - That looks perfect on you.
Maa maa desu ne - It kind of looks ok. Could be better. (Only use with friends)
Kore wa doo desu ka? - How about this one?
(clothes) wa (place) desu. - The (clothes) are (place).
Josei no fuku wa koko desu - Women's clothing is here
Dansei no mizugi wa asoko desu - Men's Swim wear is over there
(clothes) wa (noun) no chikaku ni arimasu - The (clothes) are next to the (noun).
Kodomo no boshi wa kigaeshitsu no chikaku ni arimasu - Children's hats are next to the dressing room.
